Kayak trouble

So last summer my Kayak got a hole in the bottom. I didn't realize the severity of the issue till I began to sink in the creek. It was actually kind of funny. It actually happened when I let one of my friends borrow it. He failed to tell me...Douche. Anyway, I want to be able to use it this summer and I only have duck tape as an answer to fix it. Yes that was the answer I got. Surely there is something else to patch up the damn hole. I really don't want to buy another one.
